NAKBA:
May 15, 2018, commemorated the 70th anniversary of the 1948 exodus when more than 700,000 Palestinians were displaced. In response, Arab News created awareness of the Palestinian plight by providing readers with important data and figures relating to the displacement in an 8-page special section. A newspaper cover wrap graphic was created which when opened up vertically, turning in to a full length double page broadsheet poster for readers to keep. The illustration features a map showing all key border changes, graphics of refugee numbers, population displacement, social economic data to illustrate the challenges of the Palestinian people. This lead graphic was also developed into animation for social media.
